01.30.23 Burgfit

I also made the gym 01.28 but I was too lazy to log it :)

Today was okay. I had to run which is one of my least favorite things but....I survived.  

WOD 1 was and ascending AMRAP with an increase of 2 per round.  



Situps 

Kb swings (I did 25lbs I think)

With a 100m run between each round.  

I completed 12 rounds. 


WOD 2 was 5 rounds of...

14 db snatches (I did 20lbs)

12 "box" jumps. (I did the 45lb plate jump)

8 calories on the bike

I completed with 30 seconds or do on my time cap.

Burgfit 01.25

 I had a mixed bag of feels about today's WODs. I straight up can't do rope climbs yet. This is way too much weight to try to pull up a rope. I usually do rope walkups but my baby soft hands were not ready today.  I did ring rows instead. Meh. I was proud of myself for doing the jumps. I can't jump high yet, so I'm starting with a 45lb plate. I will slowly add to this until I'm ready for a box.  Feels impossible but I know that if I keep walking the walk I'll get there. 

I completed all rounds of a 1-10 pike pushup<m>, air squats, and calories on the skier. Completed basically AT the time cap. 

Next was a 12 minute AMRAP of 6 ring rows <m> and 20 "box" jumps. I completed 5 total rounds.

Burgfit 01.23

 I had fun with this workout! As mods I used a 50lb sandbag and a white handled kb which I *think* are 23lbs. My squats were not very deep... this is something I hope to work on. Burpees were elevated. I give myself a B- today with absolutly no standards as to why.

01.20.23


Pretty rad workout today. Wod 1....I should have gone heavier with the ball. I chose the begginer weight of 40lbs, but I finished 2 minutes over the cap. Next time I'll try 50. Ring rows instead of pullups. Maybe one day!

Wod 2.  Yuck. Total of 2000m row and 88 weighted situps broken into 8 rounds.  Felt like forever. 

I didn't deal with much pain today which is awesome.  Some fatigue and discomfort in my ankles and calves towards the end of that row.

 "How was your workout this morning?"

"Humbling"

It's a good summary.  

Every 9 minutes for 4 rounds... the intention is to have a minute of rest between each round. That didn't happen for me. I didn't complete a single round. 

I got hung up for time mostly on three rope walkups and the lunges.  I struggle with mobility on those lunges. I did push myself to do full lunges with my knee touching the ground, but they eye slow going.  The rope walk ups? I put so much chalk on my hands there was a literal cloud of it. 

I showed up. That's what matters, right?

So many barriers!

It was a little rough today. My little girl decided she needed to come with me, which can be rough. Today she was great. It was cold this morning which always makes my joints a little achy. Lastly... my leggings were too big so I was constantly tugging them back up. So annoying! I did not do a great job today. We had a 40-30-20 and I only got through the 40. Everything felt like a struggle. But you know what? I showed up on a day that I could have easily made excuses to stay home. Small win?

Burgfit 01/13/23

I had a great workout this morning! I didn't even try to talk myself out of going when my alarm went off. I used 12lb dumbells and did elevated burpees. I also did my step overs on a small box with a 15lb weight on top. Overall it was a great class and I got to work out with one of my favorite people as a bonus!

Half-assed is still something!

Today my smiley, silly daughter tagged along with me to the gym. Its always a little hit or miss on how she will behave.  This was a "I want to hang out with you mom" kind of day and I'll never say no to that.  She decided to do the workout with me but we basically did about 600m jog total.  90 assisted lunges. 45 elevated burpees...plus the warmup. It wasn't perfect by any means but we had a little bonding time which is way more important.

I was told there would be fun...

Now...granted. it does take a certain kind of weirdo that is a little masochistic to love working out. I am that kind of weirdo.  However this? 


..... this wasn't fun.  WOD 1. Imagine walking up the longest flight of stairs carrying a random 20lb weight for 20 minutes.  And for some reason you stop every 3 minutes and do 10 pushups. Fuuuuq you.  

WOD 2 probably wouldn't have been so harsh if it wasn't for the push up climb.  3 rounds of it was exactly my capability. That last plank...my arms were literally shaking.  

Modifications for me this go around. I used the small box with a 15lb weight on top to step on. Push ups were elevated onto that box. I did squats instead of wallballs. My kb was 30lbs. 

Was it fun? No. Did I die?  Close but no.
